INSEAD
Founded 1957. The business school for the world, pioneer of the one-year MBA.
Overview
Georges Doriot, the Harvard professor father of venture capital, founded INSEAD in Fontainebleau as an Ivy-quality school for postwar Europe. It pioneered the intensive one-year MBA now copied worldwide, and its three campuses in France, Singapore, and Abu Dhabi made it the original global business school. Class sections rotate across continents as coursework requires. About 1,000 MBA students per class-year across intakes join 60-plus nationalities. The INSEAD name has no official expansion, a marketing mystery it preserves. Alumni lead global banks, airlines, luxury groups, and consultancies worldwide.
