Pomona College
Founded 1887. Founding member of the Claremont Colleges, a small college with university-scale resources.
Overview
Founded by Congregationalists on a desert-railroad town's empty mesa, Pomona became the anchor of the Claremont Colleges consortium. Its 1,700 students cross-register across five undergraduate colleges and two graduate universities, choosing among more than 2,000 courses. Campus spans Mission Revival quads against the San Gabriel mountains, with ski slopes and beach both within a day. Alumni include Nobel laureates and MacArthur fellows.
